VIMWIKI

A plugin for VIM/NEOVim that makes the editor into a great note taking solution.

One of the reasons I really ended up settling on VIMWIKI for a note taking app was that it could easily be opened from within NeoVim with a keybinding no matter what project I currently had open. This enables me to quickly switch to it when I want to take a note and get back without breaking my workflow.

Ease of use

Vimwiki is incredibly easy to use. It leverages the familiar Vim interface, so if you're already familiar with Vim, then you can jump right in and start using it without any additional learning curve. Additionally, creating and editing pages is straightforward.

Cross-platform

Vimwiki is available on all major platforms, including Linux, macOS, and Windows. This means that you can use Vimwiki no matter what platform you're working on, and you can easily transfer your wiki files between different platforms as they are just a collection of files stored in a vimwiki folder. I have mine in a git reposoitry so that I can easily sync across several devices.

Personal knowledge base

With Vimwiki, you can create a personal knowledge base that contains all your notes, ideas, and thoughts. This knowledge base can be organized in a way that makes sense to you and can be easily searched and updated as needed. This is a great way to keep track of all your ideas and to ensure that nothing gets lost.
